Viewing past versions
Every entry carries its own history, and you can open it in one click.
Open the history
1. Open your vault and select an entry. 2. In the entry's detail view, click History (next to Edit and Delete). 3. A panel slides open showing every revision, newest first.
Click History again, or close, to collapse the panel.
Reading the history
Each revision in the list shows:
- A tag — current for the live version, v2 / v3 … for earlier ones, or deleted for the tombstone if the entry was removed.
- The time the revision was written.
- The field values as they stood at that revision — old usernames, URLs, and plaintext passwords included.
- A ✓ verified marker if that credential had been confirmed working.
Plaintext passwords in the history can be clicked to copy, the same as in the main view — handy when you need a value you changed away from.
A note on encrypted fields
Fields you've marked as encrypted (L2) show as an encrypted badge in the history rather than their old value. History shows the metadata and plaintext fields; revealing the historical value of an encrypted field is a deeper operation we're adding separately. The current value of an encrypted field is always available the normal way, in the entry's main view.
Who can see history
Revision history is owner-only. A connected agent or integration can fetch the current value of a credential it's been granted — it can never page back through an entry's past values. Browsing history is a person's action, taken in the vault UI, and every time you open it, that view is itself recorded in your audit log.
